The D850's high-speed FX-format sensor uses 45.7 million effective pixels to produce highly detailed 45.4-megapixel files. It enables the printing of very high definition images in very large format. It records true 4K full-frame video. The back-illuminated CMOS sensor has no optical low-pass filter and incorporates joined micro-lenses and anti-reflection coating. The light collected reaches the photodiodes more efficiently, to provide exceptional detail and incredible dynamic range. In addition, the 153-point AF system, inherited from the D5, provides the precise focus and wide coverage needed to capture full-frame, high-definition images.
