Paper and media

A wide choice of exceptional media

The art print is directly linked to the printing medium used. Quadrilaser has therefore selected a range of art papers dedicated to "Fine Art" prints in order to offer artists a vast choice of media: smooth, ultra-smooth, textured, watercolour, velvet, canvas, etc...

You will find a wide range of media manufactured by prestigious brands such as Canson, Hahnemühle, Ilford, Awagami...

CANSON papers

The history of photography has made Canson® one of the last pioneer manufacturers of photographic paper still in business today.

In 1865, Canson® applied for and obtained an international patent for the improvement of albumen paper, one of the very first photographic paper processes of its time. This patent consisted in improving the final rendering while avoiding the costly gold plating usually practiced on the original process.

Today, Canson® retains its innovative spirit and combines centuries of paper manufacturing experience with state-of-the-art technology. Canson® favours the use of natural minerals and the purest materials, free of optical brighteners, to provide you with age-resistant printing media.

Canson® Infinity is the name given to the Digital Fine Art & Photo range developed by the paper manufacturer Canson. Canson® Infinity is a range of high quality, age resistant papers and canvases specially designed for fine art printing.

The Canson® Infinity range of papers and canvases for photography and digital art publishing offer outstanding and long-lasting print results such as optimal colour rendition with a wide colour gamut, high DMax and excellent image sharpness.

The range "Arches"

The Canson Infinity Arches range consists of traditional papers for high-end digital printing for art and photo publishing. Inkjet versions of emblematic papers, these papers manufactured near Épinal in the Vosges region of France, retain the artisanal aspect of Arches products, their composition and their texture.

Compared to the classic version, these new papers have the special feature of being coated with a layer developed by Canson specifically for inkjet printing. Although white, they are free of optical brighteners, which prevents the paper from fading. Arches 100% cotton papers are manufactured on a round form, a traditional process that characterises the Arches paper mill. "The slow rotation of the cylinder allows the fibres to settle evenly and to be distributed in all directions on the fabric. The paper is therefore homogeneous and has good dimensional stability.

The 310gsm range in sheets and rolls consists of four papers for four applications:

  • Arches 88 Inkjet Paper is based on the well-known fine art screen and intaglio paper, Arches 88, and has a smooth, velvety, pure white surface with good colour accuracy.
  • Arches BFK Rives for inkjet printing is available in two shades: a pure white for colour prints and a natural white for black and white prints. The paper manufacturer recommends them for prestigious inkjet prints.
  • Arches Aquarelle Rag for inkjet printing, a digital version of the reference paper for watercolours, has a marked texture and would be ideal, according to Arches, for images with large solids and large formats. pour impression jet d'encre, version numérique du papier référence pour l'aquarelle, possède une texture marquée et serait idéal, selon Arches, pour les images avec de grands aplats et les grands formats.

These optical brightener-free papers meet the requirements of the ISO 9706 conservation standard, essential for galleries and museums.

Hahnemühle Papers

The Digital Fine Art collection consists of a comprehensive range of unique, high quality art papers for inkjet printing. It is designed for those who seek originality and want to unleash the full potential of their creations on paper.

FineArt inkjet papers meet the highest requirements for art reproduction with outstanding print results and excellent conservation (over a century). They are ideally suited for exhibitions, art collections and editions that are intended to last. To meet these requirements, high quality, ultra-pure art papers are used as the paper base. Specially designed natural felts give these papers their unique surface. This gives the motif a three-dimensional character that enhances the image result with great intensity. Fine Art papers made from cotton or alpha-cellulose are characterised by their strong hand, exceptional volume and special texture.

With high-resolution inkjet coating that delivers impressive colour and detail, beautiful contrast and intense blacks, Fine Art inkjet papers are a luxury package of premium products.

The range "Natural Line"

It consists of four papers made from unique raw materials: bamboo, hemp, agave and sugar cane. Because of their rapid growth, these plants provide more fibre than other raw materials on the same cultivated area. In addition, they consume less water and do not require pesticides. This saves valuable resources and helps to protect the environment.

The new Natural Line FineArt inkjet papers are a further step in our commitment to sustainability and resource conservation.

ILFORD papers

ILFORD has been a name associated with photography since its inception in 1879. ILFORD is known worldwide for its silver halide papers and also offers a very good range of papers for digital prints.

Quadrilaser has chosen to combine Ilford papers with Epson's printing quality to offer exceptional black and white prints, very close to what can be achieved with carbon inks. Indeed, the Epson P20000 printer has 3 greys and 2 blacks, which makes it possible to reproduce neutral tones and fine gradations.
